Common solenoid valve faults include:
(1) Loose or detached wire connections – simply tighten them.
(2) Burnt coil – caused by moisture ingress (leading to excessive current) or insufficient coil turns (resulting in inadequate magnetic force). Remove the coil and test with a multimeter; replace if faulty.
(3) Valve sticking – occurs when contaminants enter or lubrication is insufficient.
(4) Air leakage – typically due to damaged seals; replace seals. Also inspect piping to rule out external leak sources.
